No, I did not visit the Chinese/Mexican buffet. I've asked around before and never found anyone that has eaten there.

Milton's is a pizza place. Milton's Pizza & Pasta

I stay away from buffets myself, but I hear McCalls on Highway 70 in Clayton is very good.

If you like Chinese food there is a good buffet at the 35 Restaurant in Chapel Hill on Franklin Street in University Square.

Crystal Palace mentioned above is really good. Their buffet is bigger than most other places plus they have a kid's buffet with nuggets, french fries, mac & cheese. I also say Sweet Tomatoes is very good too.

I'm still trying to figure out Crystal Palace....a Chinese buffet with french fries, sushi, mac & cheese, and once I saw mashed potatoes.....none of which I saw when I was in China.

The french fries & etc are on the kids buffet at Crystal Palace off to the side by itself at a lower level for kids to reach. That stuff isn't on the main buffet. I personally think that is a good idea, cause not all kids like chinese then us adults don't feel like we have to go to golden coral or a pizza place all the time. But you are right it is weird to see mac & cheese in a chinese restaurant

I haven't been there in a while but they also used to have prime rib on their buffet! Seen that in China?

Milton's buffet is wonderful! They only have the buffet at lunch time. Their beef ribs are great and they don't even have that on the menu, just on the buffet. They also have wings on the buffet and a few veggies, mostly all types of Italian stuff. And...plenty of desserts on the buffet!

Vicki

It's already brought up, but we've really enjoyed Golden Corral since arriving here. The price is great and the selection is fairly wide. We don't have one on the West Coast. But compared to Vegas buffets, it's pretty good (unless you go to one of those hundred dollar buffets, then it's hard to compare). Of course, we've also found that the quality and selection does differ from location to location. We've already picked out the two we like best (out of seven we've visited thus far).

Actually - I saw spare ribs in southwest China quite a bit - but not prime rib.
