Memorial Day weekend was awesome. It was a bit warmer this weekend (High 80's). My upstairs gets a lot of sun and as of Saturday night this past weekend keeping the windows open all day with the fan running was not enough. We had company so we finally broke down and turned on the AC. At least we made it to June! May was very mild this year, but I think the heat is now on its way! I don't mind.... just takes me a day or two to acclimate!

It was warm enough this weekend to make a trip to the Pool at Holding Park in Wake Forest a priority so we could “Cool Off”.

Nice Pool, but get there early (It opens at 1pm). It gets pretty busy with kids by 3pm!

NC is nowhere near as humid as Florida in the Summer.
I live in both Raleigh and Miami Beach and am always struck by the difference when I travel between the two.

In NC, the heat comes in waves with some breaks in the Summer whereas much of Florida seems to have no relief from the heat between now and October. Plus, the evenings in Raleigh are much, much cooler and drier than the evenings in Florida. I am sure that's hard to believe for folks who are used to cooler weather. But, it just goes to show you that it's all relative.

LOL! Oh, my. We turned on our AC for the first time on March 28th because it was too humid in the house. Now, it hasn't run everyday since then. But yesterday it was HOT here!!! Our allergies are kicking into to high gear so the windows are not always an option for us.

NRG, always feel confindent that when you turn on that AC for the first time of the year, you will hands down always beat me for holding out! I'll even let you flaunt your electric bill at me.

Not really HOT yet. On today's drive home from work the car thermometer never went about 85. On Saturday it got up to about 90 on the drive back from Boone.

Still mild compared to what I had to deal with before moving to NC. Car thermometer used to frequently read about 110 on the drive home from work.

seen some low 90's temps from my car, but I have to say I am absolutely enjoying this weather! I've been taking the kids to the pool every hot day and it just feels sooooo good!

Not too hot or himid today. Ceiling fans do the job.

Now tomorrow may be a different animal.

Still better than New Orleans, but last August was a taste of hell.
