Someone just told me that during the winter you may have several dreary, cloudy days in a row. I mean more than two days at a time. Is this true? I need my sunshine.

For this past winter I don't recall more than 2 cloudy, grey days in a row. But I moved from Portland, where 45 days without sun is typical.

In the winter I remember some windy sunny days. The wind made it colder thus a little too cold for most of the kids to play outside.

we get tons of sun in raleigh, don't worry. its one of the main reasons i live here. the mountains get many more clouds, and they act as a snow barrier and cold front barrier.

I think we do have several days in a row of rain/clouds in the winter and sometimes in the summer. I thought everwhere had this. Lots of sunshine and then some days for rain that keeps the trees/bushes/flowers happy.

I'm a sunny CA transplant and we experienced our first winter. It wasn't that bad but I sure am loving the spring weather and even look forward to the more humid months.

It was, but the morning started out cloudy. It was kinda unexpected from my standpoint b/c I expect mornings in the summer to be sunny. I was here last summer and I don't remember too many cloudy summer mornings. Hopefully, this morning wasn't the start of a trend for the summer.
