My husband's allergies are worse this spring, too. He is taking allergy meds every day, but he is still suffering. Even in all of this glorious weather, we're keeping most of the windows closed just to keep the pollen out of the house. Note that he is allergic to grass pollen, so all of that pine pollen in early spring doesn't bother him one bit, nor does any other tree pollen.

I've been following those pollen charts and mine was especially bad around Mother's Day. My Dad seemed to think that is when ragweed starts to bloom. An allergist I visited last September said most people in this area w/ allergy issues are bothered my rag weed. I know when the first frost hit my allergy went away... just like the doc said. He did mention that rag weed blooms from May to the first frost (Ugh!!) I have not seen ragweed on those pollen charts on pollen.com.

Edit: I just found a website about ragweed and it sounds like while it has sprouted now, it doesn't usually produce pollen until midsummer. So maybe it's not ragweed. Sorry for the confussion.

Whatever it was that was in the air, it must be slowing down as I have been much better the last few days.

I also started using a Neti Pot to clear my sinuses. What a weird feeling that is when you use it. Freaky!!! But nice afterwards.

My husband just said the same thing (about whatever was in the air is slowing down).

I don't have a neti pot but a shower massage or even your sink tap can work the same way! It IS the weirdest feeling when you first do it but for anyone with any sort of sinus congestion it does wonders to keep things moving and hurry along whatever is ailing you. I just press one nostril, breathe in the water with the other until the water gets about halfway in and then I release the other nostril and the water flows through. Kinda gross, I know but it does work.
