Hi Everyone!

As a Christmas gift to myself I am going to replace the much-hated sofa and rug in my living room. I'm interested in contemporary furnishings and wanted to know if anyone could suggest somewhere I should consider shopping.

I'm familiar with Ambiente and have bought a couple of small items there. I'll definitely put them on my list. I'm also familiar with Nowells. I'll visit their showroom but suspect they may be a bit out of my price range (although I'll absolutely work it out if they have something I really want).

I've done some research online but haven't found much beyond the two mentioned above.

I'll appreciate any suggestions y'all can give me.

Thanks!

Here are a few more places to check out. Ambienete is my favorite local place to shop. Ikea is not local, but you cannot beat the prices!! A two hour drive to Charlotte for Ikea is worth it.

Drive to Charlotte for furniture?? You're nuts. Drive to High Point. It's the furniture capital of North America. Don't bother to shop local, just go to High Point for the big stuff. They'll ship, you'll still save money.

denita,
Nancy Kitchener, an interior designer, owned West Side Furnishings. Although the store is closed, she still owns West Side Design. I loved her store, but I thought of it as more eclectic than contemporary. Many interesting pieces. Here is a link to info about her design business:

Ambiente in Brier Creek has the biggest selection that I have seen here of contemporary furniture. They have a pretty big space.
