I'm looking for a new primary care physician in North Raleigh. I'm relatively healthy, other than having a battle with insomnia for nearly all of my adult life. I'm not happy with my current physician, as he seems reluctant to prescribe any kind of long-term sleep assistance medication . . . I am forced to go back every month for an in-office visit and a refill (for 15 pills only, and then I have to get the scrip refilled, so I am essentially paying twice the amount of $$ for a months' supply). He seems to think that "well, maybe this is the month that everything will get better" and I am beginning to think that he is just fleecing me for the office visits. I know there are plenty of non-addictive sleep medications out there, and I need them!!!
I am looking for a recommendation for a doctor who is quality, but yet not overly conservative (or overly concerned with lining his pockets at my expense) in this regard.
I just had a wonderful visit with a female physician in North Raleigh and I would definitely recommend her. She was very thorough and even sent me a personalized letter with my lab results. I've had the experience of feeling like I was just another patient with past physicians but not this time around. Please send me a personal message because I don't think I can mention her name on the forum...thanks.
