Rush hour karting - Team Building, Company Outings, Go Karts - Rush Hour Karting - in Garner uses (somewhat detuned) racing karts on their 1/3rd mile indoor track. I'm not sure if they allow people to bring their own, but the owner is pretty accessible so you could talk to him and see?

Virginia International Raceway has a 5/8th mile track (VIRginia International Raceway - Kart Track). They're located just across the border into VA, about 1.5 hours from here. I haven't tried the go kart track, but the big track is quite nice.

I can't remember the name but I know where it is. Here's a dirt oval go-kart track that races every Sat. night. It's a professional track so there isn't any to rent and ride in case that's what you are looking for.

PSI- That track is in Johnston County and is closed now. It closed at the end of last year and from what I hear the owner has sold the dirt to another track( I guess it's good dirt to race on-maybe because it packs good?).

Thanks for the input, however I'm looking specifically for an asphalt sprint track.

OCR Action Sports Park

Orange County Raceway north of Durham is probably your best bet. It is either in or near Roxboro, NC.
* 1/4 Mile Asphalt Oval
* 36 Feet Wide
* Flat Corners
* 350 Feet Straight-a-Ways
* 25 Feet of Grass Runoff Before the Tire Stack Barrier
* State of the Art Lighting for Night Racing at its Best!!
