I think there is an informal contest amongst the Waffle Houses over there to get as low as you can go on the sanitation scores without being shut down. (I know the one in Kenly managed to pull a 72 while I was there).
If that's the best y'all can do....uh, yeah....anyway....aren't there some taco trucks outside the Longbranch?

Another good late night food place is MoJoe's Burger Joint right on the Corner of Glenwood Avenue and Peace Street. Their kitchen is open to 1:30am Monday through Saturday and 11:30pm on Sunday nights. I hear the burgers are only $1 after 10pm. Sounds good to me!

Was this around back in '06? If so...then yeah, I missed that one. By the way, I haven't been around there since January '07 so things may well be progressing over there.
The other late-night challenge in Raleigh wass finding gas.
I found it bewildering that there are three or four gas stations at 40@Jones Sausage Road and they all shutter up by 10 even on weekends. The one place around there you can go is an Exxon station on Poole near 440. Closer to downtown heading south I think there's one on South Saunders (BP?) that is open until midnight or 1. I basically just started making sure I had gas to get wherever I was going at night.

As of this time last year they already had 70 conventions booked.

Yup, sounds like a complete waste of money.

$1M will be a tank of gas for the Hummer next year. A drop in the bucket basically. We'll all be millionaires with bus passes with inflation at this rate...
If there was another zero in there I'd say yes, but come on.

What happens to all the displaced people when the area "is cleaned up and desirable?" Where do they go?? They don't just disappear....
