I am a licensed mental health therapist in Kentucky and am looking in to relocating to the Raleigh area because of the seemingly abundant and well paying positions open there. Like I said, I am licensed here, but would need to obtain my NC LPC to work as a therapist. It should just be a matter of applying though. My questions are: Do you folks in the mental health field and in the Raleigh area see a strong job market? Any of you working on a contract basis? The money seems good (hourly), but is the work consistent over the year? Please give me some input. Thanks
Most of the people I've ever known here who work in mental health work for a state facility. There are usually an abundance of jobs in that field, but mostly because of high turnover. I have no idea about the private sector.
