I am relocating from Southern CA to North Carolina for a new job in Wilson. Looking for a good place to buy a home (last home I want to buy) and does not appear that Wilson would be the best place, so I have been looking in Wake Forest, Youngsville, and Clayton....

I would like an established upscale neighborhood. Decent sized lot min 1/2 acre. Drive of 1 hour and less to Wilson. I would like to be closer, however so far have not found a good town close to Wilson.

Since I am coming from CA I want to stay away from crowded areas, or areas that may have such high growth they'd be likely to have allot of traffic.

The places I have seen so far I liked were Crenshaw Manor in Wake Forest, Rivers Edge in Youngsville, and Glenn something in or just outside of Clayton. It was a subdivision along a golf course, very nice.

I know all these areas are an hour out of Wilson, does anyone know of similiar neighborhoods closer to Wilson? Price raneg 350-425K..... 3 Bedrooms, with larger living areas (some of the new homes have fairly small living area rooms even though they boast 2700-3000 square feet , cannot figure out where all the square footage is....)

Thanks!

Ledeen

what about Zebulon? (pronounced zeb-u-lin) It is a growing community, but you will still have "space" it is about 30 miles from wilson, and would be an easy commute.

there are some beautiful homes, new construction (if that is what you are interested in) and resales in many different neighborhoods (wakefield meadows, brookfield plus others).

It may be a good option for you in that it is a nice small town, it is growing, the commute will not be quite so far, etc.

I agree, you should definitely check out Zebulon too. Some nice upscale homes out there and a much quicker drive to Wilson!

Glen Laurel or any subdivisions along Hwy 42 east in Clayton would be an easy commute. Hwy 42 takes you right into Wilson and you're looking at 25-35 minutes.

Knightdale may be a good area for you. Zebulon is great too.

Zebulon is probably going to be the easiest commute while actually staying in Wake County. Since Zebulon isn't accessed via I-40, I'd also suspect that the growth will be slower in the Zebulon area than it will be in Clayton for years to come.
