Anyone know of a good place to launch model rockets around here? My son and I are just building our first one and want to go launch it!

Thanks!

You might want to find out the soccer schedule but I know people launch them at the WRAL soccer fields on Perry Creek Rd.

You can find people launching rockets at the Leesville Middle school fields, not sure if there's a club that gathers but I occasionally will see a group of people there on the weekends.

Triangle is a huge area - you are going to get suggestions that are 30 miles apart - where exactly are you? That may help narrow it down to some more helpful advice!

There is a huge ball field off green-level durham in west cary. That might be a good place...I used to fly those when i was a kid...we'd strap the engines onto just about anything and see how high we could send it...most of the time it'd just get torn apart, just as much fun...

I used to launch with my son out at the old Dorothea Dix Hospital on Western Blvd. near NCSU. and downtown. Be cautious though because there are alot of R/C Aircraft Pilots that fly there as well so be courteous.
