I just discovered paddlecreek. If you have taken kayak trips down the Neuse river arranged by PaddleCreek, please share your experience. I am considering taking the 1.5 hour kayak trip with my 8-year old.

Thanks,

I haven't done that, so can't comment, although I've bookmarked it for the future! I have gone "wafting" on the Eno, which I highly recommend.

The YMCA guides and princesses program uses this group, so at least you know that the Y has checked them out.

My whole family just did this exact trip recently. We LOVED it! I would highly recommend it. It will be great fun for your 8 yr old. We would love to go back and do the 5 hour trip.

I also have heard that they offer a service where they let you use your own canoe/kayak & they provide transportation back to their store after your paddle. Has anyone used them for pickup & transportation? My husband & I own our own kayak and this is something we'd like to do, as we've never done the Neuse before.
