Default Raleigh Country Club area?

I'm considering a house near (but not in) the Raleigh country club area. Can someone familiar with the area let me know how it is? Crime, noise, general impressions? Thanks for your help!

That's East Raleigh near Wake Med, there are some neighborhoods that are fine, but as a general rule, look carefully before you choose.
