Default Brier Creek fireworks?

I take it the Brier Creek fireworks were rained out last night?

Or did they launch early and I missed it?

I had the radio tuned to 93.9 and didn't hear one single update.

If they are scheduled for tonight, does anyone know where the launch site is? I figured the golf course would make sense, but I drove around the area and the houses are pretty close to the greens, so I might be wrong about that.

I live in the area and there were fireworks going off about 9:30. It was raining so I really didn't get the point of setting them off.

They were setting them off from behind the shopping center I'm pretty sure.

We heard them going off around 10 and I am glad they still went through with it. We watched from our back window with our daughter and she was still looking for them this morning!

There were a few duds I guess due to the rain.

seajoy88 is on a distinguished road
We were driving along I-540 around 10pm last night and saw the fireworks going off in the rain. I've never seen fireworks going off in the pouring rain like that. They were pretty, but seemed a waste in the rain since I'm sure many people weren't out to view them.

I don't think it was a waste at all; a lot of people live in vicinity of the shops. I'm sure anyone living in this area could easily see them. Also, a lot of people were out at the movies etc. We saw some people parked in their cars watching.

I live right by and think it was a waste. It was raining pretty decent when they went off so people weren't standing outside watching them.

I also think it was a waste. I heard them around 10pm also. We went outside to watch. We have to walk down the street a little to get a better view (every year have done this) and this year it was miserable out, so watched from under an overhang...unfortunately not great viewing. It was nothing like previous years, I actually wondered if they misfired them or something. Not a great finale. Every year our cats have been so freaked out by the noise that it takes them several hours to come out of hiding. I don't know if they were desensitized from the thunder but they were barely phased by it this year. It made me think it wasn't my imagination that it was nothing like previous years shows.

Oh btw Matt - tonight's the first night we'll be staying in the new house .

Well dangit. I'm really, really pissed at 93.9 for giving absolutley no updates. They were supposed to have been on-site; you'd think they would have given some sort of indication of the plan over the air. We left at 9:30. My daughter was all excited to see them, and we got rained out at the fairgrounds too the previous night.

Total suckage! Grrrrr.

Well, anyway - Nat, drove by the house to see if you were in. Didn't see any cars in the driveway, but it looks like you spent a small fortune in plants!

Need anything? Shoot me an e-mail, I'll be checking it several times tonight.

I wouldn't have expected people to stand outside... It was really raining, as I said we watched from a guest room window. If someone was expecting a big show and planning an evening around it, I could definitely see how there would be some disappointment. If you were like me and not expecting a thing since it had rained and been stormy two nights in a row then it was a nice treat. Our daughter enjoyed them and that is what my world pretty much revolves around these days. One man's "junk" is another's "treasure".
