Default Jobs in the Youngsville area working with mentally disabled individuals

Hi,
My fiancee and I are looking to move to the Youngsville,Wake Forest, Raleigh area. We will be relocating from upstate New York. We have visited the area and really enjoyed it. These Adirondacks are great but it's time for a change.
My son and his wife relocated last year to Wake Forest and have recently built a home in Youngsville. It would be nice to be as close as possible to them.
We both are currently working for an agency who works with or supports mentally retarded individuals. The agency is the Lexington ARC and is one of the biggest employers in our area. We both have extensive training. She works as an occupational therapist assistant and I am a coordinator at a day habiliatation center.
We would really appreciate any input or leads to careers in our field that are in the Youngsville area.
Thanks Rick

Default Try Butner

I would try looking in Butner they have many mental health institutions there. It's about 20 miles west of Younsville. There's the John Umstead Hosiptal, the Murdoch Center, the new Butner Psychiatric Hospital, the Children's Psychiatric Institution, etc. I am not in the field, but live close bye. The hospital is new and I know they were having trouble finding staff, so there is definitely ample opportunity there.

No offense, but If you both have such extensive training you should know that you no longer refer to mentally disabled as "retarded." This term is considered very offensive. The proper term is "developmentally disabled." Just trying to help, honestly as if you apply for positions and throw that word "retarded" around you probably won't get too far.

Yeah, euphemisms for everything are needed now.

If I need Viagra, I guess I'm "erectilely challenged".

No more calling it like it is in this society.
