Default Harris Teeter - Store Security

Might just be me but does Harris Teeter make you feel like a criminal when they announce,"store security scan and tape all aisles"? They seem to do it at random times and whenever I'm in there..hmmm

could just be my sensitive little self.....

You do realize that is an audio tape on a loop don't you? They don't have a security guard manning the cameras.

I've always assumed that the announcement meant absolutely nothing except to function as a pseudo-subtle way of saying "Hey! If you were thinking about shoplifting, then you should know: we have security cameras!!"

I hear it all the time too. I believe it's a pre-recorded message that they play on a regular basis.

Yeah I agree , if I heard that I would think

"oh my ..when I got my list from my pocketbook I bet they
thought I was putting something in there"

I was at a drugstore once and checking out at the counter and the guy
actually ask me about a display right near my pocketbook and said something was missing.
I am there 3-4 times a week and that was super embarassing.
Really a turn off to shop there.

I hear it and hate it! It makes me feel like we are a) criminals and b) stupid (it is obviously a prerecorded loop). It is incongruent in a place like HT.
