Default About fencing

We just moved to Chapel Hill. Our house is in a corner location, so we'd like to put up a fence asap. I did a search in the forum and found many useful tips. What surprised me is that no one seems to use Lowe's or Home Depot for fencing. I am wondering if there is a reason for that.

Also, if anyone could recommends a company in Chapel Hill/Durham area, that would be great!

Thanks in advance!

For starters, to even get a quote from Lowe's it costs something like $35 dollars to get them to come out and measure. We actually got a quote from them, and the two guys who came out were a joke, and they ended up measuring wrong, and added almost 100 square feet to the measurement.

I'm outside of Chapel Hill and we ended up going with Outdoor Structures, and were completely happy with the work they did. Their quote came in $1000 dollars less than having Lowe's do it. Once we started looking into other fence companies it became clear to us that Lowe's was way more expensive, they contract out the work anyway, and were told that the wood they use isn't of a very high quality, which is why we ended up getting quotes from lots of other fencing companies.

Default fence installer...

Lowes and H.d. charge about 25% more than a local fence company. You're paying for the name. The service is done usually by my company. and others if I cant get to it. KG Fencing 2019518
