Now is a goodtime to mulch, especially with colder weather coming. Not only does the mulch hold moisture but it also protects the roots from the freezing cold.
We are getting a hard freeze next week, temps going to hit 30-32 for several mornings so mulch up. It also helps to protect by watering the plants thoroughly the night before the freeze, expecially newly planted ones.
I have used many places for my clients - Triangle Landscape Supplies, Sand and Soils, Norwood Nursery...all very good.
There's a great place on Hwy. 55 just past TW Alexander, but before Kit Creek Road that has great prices, but delivery is around $60.00. They have stone, rocks, sand, dirt, and mulch. Can't remember the name of the place, sorry...
We use For Garden's Sake on 751 (about 1/4 mile from the Fayetteville Rd./751 split)
