SC2NC08 is on a distinguished road
Smile Moving to Raleigh!!!

I recently graduated from college & have been offered a position working for the state of NC. The job is located in Raleigh. I am in my early 20's, African-American, single, no children. Is the Raleigh area good in terms of interracial dating? Is there a vibrant nightlife? Any suggestions on good/safe neighborhoods? Any information would be appreciated!!!

Congratulations on your new job--you sound so excited!

Depending on where you're moving from, your definition of vibrant nightlife will vary some. I think that it's improving all the time.

Interracial relationships are relatively common in the Triangle, so I wouldn't worry about the dating scene.

If you can, when you come to rent an apartment, focus on the area downtown, near Glenwood Ave...

Good luck!

(I'm from Durham, and am hoping some Raleighites will come give you more specific tips...)
