You don't like them or you don't know that they are local columnists?

Two N&O Wordsmiths.
A burger on the grill sears in about the time it takes to read a couple of columns...

Found my favorite burger at Fuddruckers..
Buttery Grilled bun...yum...

oh...except for our version of the white castle burgers we have been making at home.
A ton of sauted chopped onions...slap very thin burgers on top and steam/grill.
Then cheese & bun on top to steam a minute.

I really like Char Grill. The quality appears to be better. However, you cannot go wrong with Cook Out
either, and you definitely can't beat the prices at Cook Out.

I love Char Grill's steak burgers and fries. However, since Cook Out is closer and with more locations I eat there more often. Cook Out is on their A game with those milkshakes (aka ice cream).

My relationship with Chargrill on Hilliborough goes back to 1967. I lived close by as a student and would sometimes have lunch there. The last time I ate at Chargrill - about a year ago - the burger was mostly bread. That did it for me. I prefer Five Guys.

It's blasphemy to even mention Five Guys along with Cook Out and Char-Grill. Not even the same class of burger, although they are twice as expensive!

Went to Char grill and didnt get the writing the order when we had a couple burgers with different things wanted on each but there was one "burger space" then forgot to order fries, had to do another ticket as a separate order and got the fries halfway through meal-and the food was mediocre and the workers were just rude. I THINK we were in garner. Haven't been back.

Fuddruckers is without a doubt my favorite burger. I miss them soooo much. I tried chargrill and didn't love it. We enjoy cookout when we are going to have a calorie explosion. I like the hotdog with bacon and cheese. (heart attack on a bun)
