Used to be that way in MA when I lived there...but that's been over 15 years....they may have changed the law.

To be honest, it always creeped me out....I don't like other folks messing with my car and I am quite capable of doing it myself, but it was nice in cold weather!!

Apparently, New Jersey and Oregon are the only two states now that do not allow self-refueling. The New Jersey law was enacted in 1949 and the Oregon law in 1951.

I'm moving to the area from Northern Virginia where this weekend 6 people were killed in a span of 5 hours in DC and Prince George's county. I think I'll take my chances with the "carjacking" where the car and child are recovered after just 2 hours. That's called a joy ride in DC.
