Where the heck is Horneytown? I have looked all over the map and can't find it. It just struck me strange. Why I don't know since I have been in North Carolina all my life. Oh and don't forget Middlesex in Wilson County.

Horneytown
Horneytown is an area between High Point and Winston-Salem -- so yes, it exists. I'm not sure if it is actually an incorporated town.
There is a Horney family in High Point that I know of, which I'm sure traces itself back to the name of the area.

I think they might be a community that doesn't have a post office. Kinda like Arba and Lizzie are in Greene County. People will tell you that they are from Arba or Lizzie but they don't have a post office so it isn't technically a town and you won't find it on a map unless it is a Greene County map.

I've been to Big Lick, near Oakboro. They have a great antique mart twice a year.

There are a lot of towns north of Winston-Salem that might fit your bill. I'm looking for something very similiar to what it sounds like you are looking for. The town of King, Pinnacle, Mount Pilot are very small within 15 miles of Winston-Salem and under an hour from Greensboro for airports, etc. Schools are smaller, house prices are reasonable, and there are 4 seasons. Lots of colleges in the area for culture, football, etc. I'm also doing a lot of research to move to the area, so any help would be appreciated. I've narrowed it down to the King area and go to a college up there or towards Oakboro area and go to UNC in Charlotte. Any ideas.

I live in Holly SPrings and I am very familiar with Fuquay. Both Holly Springs and Fuquay are small towns that would fit your size requirements. However, they are 2 of the fastest grwoing towns in SE Wake County. As for the housing prices, I'm sorry but I can't be of much help. When we moved here 3 years ago our purchase price was higher, so I don't know what is available in your price range.
