Lazy Daze in Cary today
DH and I are thinking of going today. Has anyone been? Is this worth going to? It's a beautiful day to be outside.

I've been several times. You can find very unique items, eat and just enjoy all the crafts and music. I think it is my favorite event of the year, unfortunately, I can't go this year.

I have been going for many years and the best time to go is 8am, to beat the crowds and baby strollers. If you want to even get in a booth go early. I have to miss it today going to a wedding. I love it and I always come home with a few things ;-)

It's definitely worth going to! Especially today because the weather is nice. Last year it was so hot, we skipped it but it is really a nice way to spend the day!

Well, I just got back from Lazy Daze and it was wonderful! So many artisans - great jewelry, pottery, art, bird feeders etc etc. We found a unique display of garden whimsy crafted from tools! We ended buying a birdfeeder, made of re-bar, a shovel, garden shears and small pitchfork in the form of a stork! What a great craft fair! Can't wait until next year. Also found great handcrafted murano glass bead jewelry by a woman from Sanford. Very reasonably priced and so lovely. I highly recommend this craft fair.
Oh, and the Town of Cary did an incredible job organizing free shuttle transit to and from Cary Towne Center. Kudos to them!

Glad you had a good time. I went last year with my wife. It was a great event, but last year it was very hot on that day. I also agree that it is best to get there first thing. We came later in the afternoon and it was crowded big time. All in all an excellent event. Just get there early!

I just got back. We spent about 4 hours and browsed all there was to offer. My assesment is that is that the festival of artists, features more CRAFTS, then actual arts. A lot of housewives showing off their crafts. Lots of mass-produced, low end stuff. However, there were some really interesting finer speciality creations that were unique too. Overall a very fun, lively and entertaining event. I agree with others, it was crowded though, elbow to elbow room only. Music, food and the fresh lemonaide was great!

My wife, daughter, and were there from noon - 2:30. I'll be honest, festivals like this aren't my cup of tee but my wife likes them and it was also good to do something different. This was our first "Cary event" since buying a house here. The weather could have definitely been worse but there were times when the sun was baking me! I imagine an early morning or late evening trip would be very comfortable.
It was a good time since my wife enjoys stuff like that, a good excuse for me to eat hot dogs from the Ashworth Pharmacy, and we have a nice new bonsai tree and an air plant to show for our trip.
Unfortunately I never did find the Beer garden.
