Moving to Cary and need to find a competitive team for my daughter who now plays U15. Does Cary have a youth soccer league? Moving from California within the next 6 months.

Cary doesn't sponsor Soccer leagues. But you can find soccer leagues within Cary. We're U9, so go to Morrisville for soccer, but they stop at U13 (so can't help specifically).

I thought CASL (capital area soccer league) had groups for U13, maybe in the challenge league? They have programs throughout the triangle. The website, http://www.caslnc.com

The Challenge level of soccer (locally CASL) is one level up from recreational level (open play). There are tryouts & they play locally and in 1-2 tourneys a season - usually no further than say Myrtle Beach to the south... Asheville to the west... or up to Southern Virginia. Their coaches are volunteers.

I think the next level - Elite or Classic is the true "travel teams" with a paid coach - along with more extensive travel.

Also the CASL affiliated High School challenge teams (U15 and up) only play in the fall - they do not play in the spring b/c public high schools field soccer teams in the spring. Some of these players may drop to rec in the spring and retain their position on a challenge team.

Moving to Cary gives you quite a few options for competitive soccer...

The highest level of competitive soccer in NC is Classic, within Classic there are divisions with Premier being the highest at the U15 age group... Each club will usually have several tiers of teams within Classic. A top team, 2nd team and 3rd team usually color coded like Gold, Silver and Bronze or Navy, White, Green etc.

CASL has already been mentioned and they are the big dog on the block but there are several smaller clubs that play in the area that also field very competitive teams as good or better than CASL.

TFC...Triangle Futbol Club is a very good club with regional teams based in the Wake area, home fields are at Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary. The U20 Girls Super Y team just won a national championship.

TUSA....Triangle United Soccer Association is Chapel Hill based but they are moving into the Wake area with some teams based in Morrisville now. TUSA just had the 91 Boys Gold Classic team come in 2nd at Nationals.

There is also Carolina Select and Carolina Soccer Club locally.

As already noted, Club soccer for high school age girls is a Fall only option as the clubs basically shut down in the Spring when High School Soccer takes over.

I have 2 daughters that play Classic one at TFC and one at TUSA.

Good luck and welcome
