Wakefield Ford on Capital Blvd. (may now be renamed to Capital Ford at Wakefield) is excellent, both for sales and service. Every salesperson I've ever encountered there has been extremely knowledgeable about the cars, was very low pressure, and just overall very helpful and honest.
Hmm, ya see now I have not had that experience with them.

That dealership is owned and operated by Crossroads Ford. It is now know as Crossroads Ford of Wake Forest.

My experience at Crossroads Ford Cary 3 days ago was a joke. I think the Sales guys there have forgotten how to sell cars in the recession . There were 5 or 6 'salesmen' loitering by the front door making the place look untidy, and the one I was unfortunate to have come to my assistance didn't have a clue, and every question I asked he walked off to the main desk to get the answer - after 5 questions I decided that maybe buying a car at Crossroads Cary was too much like hard work and that somewhere else in the New Year would be a better bet and a lot less hassle
The other interesting observation was I wanted to pay cash, but I only would get a $500 'finance rebate' if I purchased on credit - it seems to me that the auto industry is a one trick pony that needs to learn how to do things different and better than the failed business model they have used for the last decade. And why use the Taxpayer dollars that Washington provided last week in emergency funding when I was willing and able to give them my own dollars but wanted the same $500 rebate? too many people lining their pockets with commissions I guess Most business owners would greet cash buyers with open hands, especially these days - but not Crossroads Ford at Cary.

Why not just buy the car on credit then pay off the entire balance immediately thereafter? You'll certainly come out ahead (so long as there's no prepayment penalty, of course).
I know this is an old post - but wanted to add. I will never go back to Capital Ford again! Bad experience!
We felt really pressured and they would not disclose pricing/invoicing information... They tried to put us in a newer car that we knew we couldnt afford, I felt like they didnt listen to our needs
There were NO window stickers and NO prices on any of there vehicles?
They told us they had 4 cars that might fit our needs but when it came down to it they only produced one vehicle we knew we could not afford, - but they tried to convince us they could make it work?
We were particularly interested in one vehicle they claimed they had - but they could not produce that vechicle either. Strange business practices!
I bought from Capital for years, then began having problems, salesman wouldn't return my phone calls, sales manager got angry when I asked questions about the financing, high pressure tactics, etc. Switched to Crossroads about a year ago and had a great experience. Easy sale, met my price on first offer, and the service department has done a great job on the two occasions I've had the car in. Crossroads Cary gets my business from now on.
I purchased a brand new Focus from Crossroads Ford three months ago. Went in knowing the exact car I wanted and how much I was willing to pay. They were very professional with me and the process was fast and smooth. Maybe it's because I was prepared for the purchase before I got there. I don't know. They even called recently to remind me to get my free oil change and tire rotation.
As far as the previous comment about american cars, a comparably equiped Camary was nearly $4000 more than the Focus when rebates where factored in. I'm sure the Camry is better quality but it's not $4000 better. I'll never understand the facination with Toyotas and Hondas.
