Default Bakery?

I'll be visiting Raleigh from out of state and will be having dinner at some friends' homes. I will be staying near the Crabtree shopping mall and was wondering if anybody can recommend a bakery nearby (within 10-15 minutes driving distance) where I can get nice cakes/desserts to take to the dinners.

Thanks.

I thought this place closed. If it's still open, do you know if it has a different owner?

Sadly, I'm pretty it's closed too. My sister lives in that area.

I'd suggest Hereghty on Glenwood. Hereghty Patisserie, Cafe in Raleigh. Pastries, Desserts and Wedding Cakes

I second Hereghty Patisserie. It is about ten minutes from Crabtree Valley mall and VERY yummy!

Turkish Delights on the corner of Glenwood and W. Jones has a wide range of Baklava and other traditionally Turkish desserts. All are yummy!

It's called The Cupcake Shoppe. I've had cupcakes from it. They were decent, but a little oily and very heavy on the icing.

I suppose the absolute closest to the original poster would be to get takeout from The Cheesecake Factory at Crabtree, but my first choice for taste and short drive would still be Hereghty.
