So just how touch can I get with Time Warner?
I'm gonna take the advice of people here and cancel my Time Warner banking on a call from them with special offers.
My 1 year offers ran out and they've bumped me to almost $200 per month for a phone line with unlimited long distance, 7Mbs internet, and the lowest digital cable with DVR.
Just how cheap can I expect to get for these services if I play hardball with them. I'm in Cary if that matters....

I called them when my promo ran out - and said I would go elsewhere if they did not put me back on promo. You have to wait 30 days after your promo period ends and they will put you back on - and they even gave me a credit for the difference during that first 30 days....

They have a one year, one time only promo. You probably used that one up. Then they have 2 year renewable contracts, which you need to get now. You should be well under $150 for a complete package with phone. I am around $100 for everything they have, without the phone. I could not be happier with the deal and the service.

So if I'm under $150 I should be happy it sounds like.

Just be careful - it all depends how you feel about signing a contract with them. They're now pushing contracts when your promotion expires, so you'd be locked in for 2 years' cost I'm assuming even if you move, etc. When my promo expired I told them I was not willing to sign a 2 year contract, so they gave me a "retention price" instead - slightly higher than the promo I had, but no contract. I had to speak to a retention person to get this though, sigh....

Retention gave me a free month after a putrid experience with the buggy software in their HD DVR.
Gave them a few months to get the DVR to be reliable. They failed and I went back to TWC analog with good results.

From what I have read, however, to go with Dish Network or Direct TV, a 2 year contract is also involved. I'm not advocating one over the other (we have TWC and our promotional pricing expires this month also), I am just pointing out there is no free ride with any of the prevalent providers.

Good Luck, I thought I would be pro-active and started calling in May, mine expired end of June. June came, I still was unable to make changes until it actually expired, then I receive a bill with the new rates, it took 2 months to have my plan go back to what I was paying, after threats to cancel their service and almost have them shut my service off, because I was only paying the amount each month I had paid for the last year, there was a rolling balance they felt I owed when the plan expired. If they had shut my service off I would have cancelled them all together! I told them off numerous times (when I was able to get through) and finally they credited back the difference...what a nightmare! I am now back to normal with billing. So frustrating to say the least! I pay $138.00 monthly for digital phone, roadrunner, and cable box w/hdtv/dvr.

Here is what I have.
Unlimited internet 7 G speed. Unlimited long distance in US and Canada, 300 channels, of which MAYBE 50 are worth mentioning, the rest are fluff, music, advertising crap channels. I pay $119 per month, 2-year locked in contract. With taxes it is just under $130 per month.
ONLY THERE IS ONE SLIGHT, SMALL PROBLEM: Their service has not worked since signing up and getting help is like trying to yank out a mollar of a 800 pound Siberian Tiger.
