I just have to say I've stayed at at "youth hostels" around the world and there's nothing "young" about them. It's about budget travelers having a clean, safe place to sleep for the night. If Frank can handle sleeping in a bunk bed in a room with a wide range of other travelers, he'll love it. And I'm almost certain he'll run into other German-speakers.

Hello, zis is Frank. Pat und her husband are out of towne. I am uzing ze computer heir at her haus. Es ist sehr nice here in Nord Carolina und I will like to stay immer langer timz hier. Bitte, let me know if Ich durfe stay at your haus. Ich habe spent alle meine $50 dollars but I stay on your couch and ist kein problem fur sie. I do dishes fur sie.
