I used to live in Elizabeth City, and really miss Eastern NC barbecue. Nobody does it better!

I'm coming to the Durham/Chapel Hill area this weekend, and am reading various reviews about the barbecue joints?

So, who has the best? Bullocks? Hog Heaven? Allen and Son? or am I'm missing the the best place?

Tks

Bullock's bbq is a good vinegar based, traditional bbq in Durham near Duke.
I hear Hog Heaven is good but haven't been.
I really like the original q-shack on University Dr in Durham.
Also, search the forum as this has been discussed several times.

Backyard BBQ Pit in Durham on Rt 55 is by far the best I have ever tasted, and I tried a lot of places when I first moved here.
