I'll generally support the fundraisers, but I'm cautious - I've seen kids selling candy, for example, claiming to be a fund-raiser, but they're really just raising money for themselves.
Nothing wrong with the entrepreneurial spirit, but don't lie...
I have no problem with kids coming to the door for fundraisers. I usually try to support them. I don't/can't buy the candy & girl scout cookies because of food allergies in our home. But I do make a cash donation instead.
At my house in Portland I thought of putting a sign that said if you are taller than this line No Soliticing.
