Wondering if anyone knows why there are orange circular stickers placed on some neighborhood mailboxes? They just showed up in the past month.

The FD out here puts them on our mailboxes (wish they would quit it) to show which houses they hit up for $ already.

Yes the FD will place a sticker dot on the mailboxes so they know you have already donated.
Also, the mail person may use a sticker dot when you go away to hold mail. Same with the newspaper person.

Yup, on the outside of the mailbox or newspaper box. The mail people have started using rubber bands also.
Guess they are phasing out the sticker dots.
