A friend and I are visiting the area this week for 3 days. We want to get a flavor for the area as well as good places to live. If we buy we are looking at $200 to $400k in a good solid area, preferably with an wooded acre lot, and low or no Hoa.
Any suggestions for places to see, eat, or neighborhoods would be most helpful. My friend will have a job already lined up if he moves whereas I am looking to start a business.
Thanks
Kevin

Just so that you know, and contrary to much popular opinion outside the area, acre lots are not the norm near the more urban/suburban areas. That said, their average size is significantly larger than they are in your area. Full disclosure: I grew up near San Jose and work for a Valley company now.

To get an acre lot in your price range, you will likely have to make some sort of compromise. I am sure there are a billion realtors here that can give you more guidance.
