Hi,
Sorry about your plight, but there IS one solution maybe. There is a septic system called a Drift system. It will run 18k-20k and a monitor is put on it that signals it either needs to be serviced or has been serviced. You[or they-the next owner] pays a monthly fee, like a maintenance contract, to have it serviced. If the monitor goes off AND you Don't get it serviced, Raleigh gets a call and you will be contacted. They approve this system, so it can be done but for a non-lakefront lot it may not be economically feasible except maybe just as a solution to sell the lot & pass on the ongoing maintenance. Thanks very much for the post. If we did install the system, the land would be worth about $7k. So it wouldn't be worth it for us.

What about a neighbor? Approach the owner of the land next to you, they won't need to build on it as they have their own house, but could use the lot within the guidelines of the HOA. you might not make money on it but you might get out of further expenses.
