Bringing this to the top - I did a search and couldn't find anything about this - for those interested in the Dix 306 plan,

I'm glad to see we're gaining support throughout the state. It would be a shame to develop this property into more highrises and retail. The land out there is beautiful and could be made into something unique for our future generations.

Leave it as a park and when it fails in 20 years NC State can use it to build a new football stadium near campus!

I would love to see an arboretum or something along those lines...parklike but more interesting and would draw people to it. I agree...once these areas are gone, its forever...especially in the city. Developers are managing to find plenty of other spaces to build up...
