Default Asheboro Zoo

NC Zoo™ - North Carolina Zoo : Zoo Homepage

we went to the NC Zoo today and it was spectacular!! i have never seen such a wonderful zoo! the animals have so much space, natural space i should add, the vegetation was beautiful, it wasn't crowded, everyone was so friendly, it was clean, etc. i could go on and on! i definitely recommend that if you haven't been, to go soon before it gets too chilly. all of the animals were out and about today.

Glad you had a good time. We went there in the spring and were also impressed. I was planning on taking my son back there next week. I hope the nice weather holds out.

We have been twice in the last 6 months. We bought a membership, which gets you in free for the year, and also gets you into the aquariums!

We went a couple weekends ago for the first time. The weather was perfect and the crowds were nearly non existent. We all had a wonderful day! I googled "Asheboro Zoo coupons" and found one for buy one adult, get a child ticket free...so we spent $20 for an entire day of fun with two adults and two children!

I had heard food was expensive and not so good there. We ate a snack before entering. Inside we bought drinks and a bag of popcorn. We then went out for a late lunch once we left the zoo.

Is the Polar Bear exhibit back?
Watching them swim around, from the under water view had been a favorite.

Yes, there is a polar bear. It was very active and fun to watch when we were there last Monday. Also, the Elk are breeding. There are signs along the paths connecting the viewing areas, but none at the actual viewing area warning you the male is aggressive and to stay back. The herd was VERY close to the railing/fence when we were there.
