Duke lacrosse accuser to promote book in Durham
Does anyone else have a problem with this situation? How can someone lie about others, try to ruin their lives and then get away with no punishment and publish a book?

The article doesn't say what the book is about. "Memoir" can mean almost anything!

I saw a clip on the news and it is about how she got to where she is in life. And I must admit, I am curious what would have made her do and say what she did. I just have a problem with the entire thing. The people she accused are the victims here. It may not be illegal for her to profit, but it is wrong....IMO

Ugh. Anyone can publish anything, and I'm sure she self-published. I doubt it'll sell all that well, anyway.

I bet you'll be surprised at how many she will sell because so many people are "curious" about her story. So they'll buy the book just to get another excuse to trash-talk her (not saying she doesn't deserve it. I don't know. I wasn't there so I don't know the true story.) meanwhile she makes even more money from this case. I know the Rainbow Coalition paid her tuition and rent in full and now she's going to get her Master's which is already paid for.

Who knows. Maybe she'll completely vindicate the players in her book, and tell everyone she was out of her mind that night (which I think was pretty likely). I'd guess she's had a rough life, and a lot of people will be curious to hear the story from her point of view. IIRC, one of the players or one of their lawyers said they believed that she believed her story.
You probably won't have to buy the book to find out what was in it. I'm sure it'll be all over the local news when it comes out.
