We've decided. Raleigh/Cary area it is. SM
I know Cary is rated a great place to live and Raleigh for that matter. My question is, when looking for a house to rent, if we do find one in Raleigh, which sections should I be looking?
Are there any sections of Raleigh that I should avoid, certain school districts, etc?
We are going to have to pick a place to rent through the computer. We will not be able to visit first.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. We dont want to end up renting a place in "the hood" if you know what I mean.
Thanks guys, Lea :-)

Hi Lea, The Raleigh/Cary area is quite large. Can you provide any further details (e.g., where you will be working, do you have kids, how important are schools, are you urban folks, suburban folks, etc.)?

Keep in mind that Wake County is all one school district.

Not really sure. SM
Come April, my husband will look for work and that will determine more what area we will be in. I was looking for a broad list of any towns or areas of Raleigh that I should stay away from due to crime, etc.
Are there any well-known high-crime areas of Raleigh that we should avoid?
Thanks so much,
ps. Yes, we have kids. Elementary age. And I am hoping to stay within the Wake County School District.

Honestly, no, there just isn't a huge list of towns to 'avoid'.....Southeast Raleigh can be higher in crime a bit...but then you probably aren't going to be looking for homes there anyway.
