Default Southeast Raleigh

I will be in the Raleigh area in late May-June. I just rec'd a job offer in Southeast Raleigh. Can anyone tell me any good suburban areas that will be within a 15-20 min or less commute to SE Raleigh? I would like to stay within Wake County schools and find an apartment in a suburban area. I dont necessarily want to live in SE Raleigh and have prev. looked north. What is the average commute times between north to south?

Most of Southeast Raleigh these days actually is suburban...particularly by the beltline and beyond it...and it's some of the most reasonably priced suburban areas you can get. I hope you'd at least give it a serious look before automatically crossing it off your list.

Getting from N. Ral to S. Ral is going to be MUCH more of a task during commuter hours than coming from an outlying suburban area south of Raleigh. I work in downtown and used to live in North Raleigh and it took me about 35 to 45 minutes to get to work (not to mention the road rage). Now I live in the burbs south of Raleigh and it takes about 20.

I would think that with 540 now open that travel times would be way down fron N. Ral. to S.Ral..
I also agree with RaleighRob about S.E. Ral. being about the most reasonable suburban land in this area.
