Default Ice hockey at The Factory

If your kids play ice hockey and you live in Wake Forest, do they practice at The Factory? Is it different for the in-house team and the traveling team? My son is 14 if that makes a difference.

Hi Beckycat, I have a 14 year old son. He is a Bantam and plays on a house league. His practices are at the Factory and his games are in Raleigh, Cary, Garner and the Factory. Let me know if you have any questions. We are a hockey family

Awesome! We're not there yet, but my son wants to play now that fottball is over. What days do they normally practice and how long are the practices? Games? When do the seasons run? Thanks for the info!

The practices run about an hour and usually it has been on a Friday night. I think this would depend on the coach though. The games are always on the weekends. Usually Saturday and Sunday morning or afternoon. The season runs from about Oct thru March. It is just enough. My son used to play for a travel team in NH. It was a much bigger commitment there. He wanted so badly to play for a travel team here but we would have had to travel much farther for games here. He really loves this sport though and my husband is a huge hockey fan. When will you be moving here?

Do they get equal play time and is it competitive? Do they have a spring season? Not sure when we're moving yet. We're ready now, but need to sell the house. I appreciate all your helpful info! When did you move there? GO FLYERS!!!!

It is somewhat competitive (not nearly as much as it was in New England though) and the kids get equal ice time. I wish you the best of luck with selling and moving. We have been here in Wake Forest for a year now. Let me know when you arrive! Feel free to send me a direct message anytime

Hey Becky, you can check out the RYHA website which has info on the house and travel teams. There is also the East Coast Eagles which has an office at the factory. My son is a PeeWee and practices on Fridays the only difference from when he played Squirt level is the time. They have stated that house leagues will do maybe one weekend travel. I have friends with sons that play on other house leagues and on Jr. Hurricanes, let me know if you have any questions.
