Default Abbington Ridge In SE Raleigh?

OK, I already live in the area (FV) but I am house shopping. I know what most people think about SE Raleigh but I think with the prices, it's a good investment that will pay off over time as the area grows. I also like diversity so no problems there. We are DINKS so I'm not worried about schools either. Yes, I realize schools will affect resale value but I would like to stay in my next home for a long time. It's my get rich slow scheme.

Anyhoo, on the builder's website they seem to have a house style that I am looking for (I can spend up to around 200K and I just want a balcony off my master, that's all. Is that so crazy? lol). Has anyone seen this neighorhood? It's a little ways down Rock Quarry outside the beltline.

Thanks in advance!

raccemup, in my opinion, you have the right idea with looking in this area for the long term. The area is affordable and actually pretty quiet. The major drawbacks are talk that the schools are not as good (which you said you aren't worried about) and the lack of shopping in the area. The Olde Towne development on New Hope is supposed to bring some retail along with it and probably a boost in land value as well. So you would be getting in at a good time. I know I have driven past that neighborhood before. Nothing specific about it sticks out in my memory other than it looks like all the other new neighborhoods in the area: cookie cutter houses with immature trees. Good luck.

Default Abbington Ridge

I have shown homes in this community, it is a buyers market now and they are offering lots of incentives! I think the value is there, and I also think the possibility for growth in that area will continue. The schools are lacking there, but if that is not an important factor for you, you should be happy.

My advice, take an agent with you and negotiate!!
