What a great quirky town. Great homes, a great little downtown which is now being redone, easy commute to RTP up bypass 55. Close to Cary but no water problems.
We moved here from NJ in the past 6 months. Bought a great home in Lakestone Village, custom builder for 300K. Hardy board granite, 3 full baths 4 bdrooms 2700 sqfeet. Schools better than most in north carolina. Heck I taught in New Jersey for 30 years and I have been sub teaching in 15 different schools all VERY GOOD! Anyway this place beats New Jersey Hands down! |

Welcome to FV, I'm glad you are enjoying it! How long would you say the commute time to RTP actually is in peak rush hour? I don't work in the park but as an accountant, I sure may end up there some day.

I wasn't sure why you had a sad face on your post.. it was a happy post !!! LOL
We love downtown FV. My son goees to the guitar store down there a lot and hangs out with the guys. I also use a salon down there for my own needs. They have a lot of cute shops.. even the pharmacy with the old fashioned counter for cheap yummy sandwiches etc. Heading much further down out of the downtown area its very rural and beautiful. But going back the other way its all about Super Walmart and Home Depot LOL There is a Food Lion, Kroger and Harris Teeter too! A Target is rumored to be built very soon as well. Keep going up 401 and you will work your way towards Raleigh. If you stay on 401 you will eventually have options to head off towards other highways.. I know 70 is one of them. 401 will lead you right in to Captial Blvd. (same road different name) I wouldn't be able to say how long it took during rush hour, but I can say that on any given day the drive mid day is about 35minutes give or take 5 minutes.
