Here's the back yard, taken around 8am last week, before the time change. Note the heavy frost on the ground! Those frosts last week are what we have to thank for the excellent foliage this year. I don't think I can remember a year where the leaves were as brilliant as they are this time.

LOL, the first one almost looks fake, bobbis. When I say fake, it looks like a closeup of a model railroad diorama. Almost unreal.

The second one, too, looks pretty remarkable. Just a beautiful sight. I love the reflection in the water and the inclusion of the boat. What lake is that?

Looks like the dw and I will be taking our drive for certain this weekend. Cameras in hand.

Beautiful pics everyone!! Thanks for sharing. When I moved here from New England, I didn't know I'd have just as spectacular foliage in the Triangle. It is just a tad later and I haven't been disappointed!
