Agree. I wasn't sure this was the complex the post was mentioning.

I'd never commute to Duke from here.

I would check these out too:
Pinnicle Ridge
Alexan Place at Southsquare (2BR $875 with Duke student discount)

Both places are nice and they are mostly filled with people at Duke. The first one is older but nice. My friend does live there and they have bug problems, so you should be aware of that. I really have no problems with Alexan Place.

Welcome to Duke!

Wow, really? I've lived in this complex for a year and a half and have zero bug problems. Once one of those large outside roaches got in but other than that I've only seen spiders. NEVER have seen any of those creepy house roaches. (just wanted to put that out there!)

If you're a Duke student -- or anyone in Durham -- Duke's grad/undergrad survey of community housing resources is terrific. Each year they poll students who live off-campus to gauge satisfaction with their housing options:

Student Affairs | Community Housing (http://cho.duhs.duke.edu/survey_results.php - broken link)

Pretty much the bible for figuring out good vs. not-good places to live.
