Smile Triangle need an indoor dog park?

Dog owners - what do you think of an indoor dog park? Would dog owners use it?

I was talking to a couple other dog park regulars today about how we're all going nuts on these rainy days w/ stir crazy pups. There's only so much you can do with housebound dogs!

Does one already exist that we're missing? Not a daycare - but a true drop in, pay $5-10 and let your dog play w/ the others for an hour or so?

Right now the doggie day cares or losing their customers )or they are cutting back the number of times a week their dogs go) due to the economy...now would not be the time to try and pull this off...not to mention where it would be, who would staff it etc etc etc.

Becky, I am not a troll, I just have a different viewpoint.

Now is not the time to start such a business. Right there there is a great doggie day care in RTP that just opened and is about to go under because people don't have the cash right now. The dog parks in Wake County are free (except for Cary's).....they will continue to get used.

The local governments can't afford to fund this. Did you even know that Wake Forest had to put their library expansion on hold because of economic uncertainty? It may happen in the future, but still...it's not a good time.

While this area, an area that you don't even live in yet, is better off them most areas in the nation, but we are not immune to the current economic problems that are going on in this nation. How can you speak about what will go over here?

Lots of things sound great....but in the real world, they just aren't practical.

PetSmart has the indoor play area for dogs. I guess it's more of a daycare? Anyway, I have friends that use it quite often on rainy days or when entertaining (as an alternative to putting the pups in a crate when guests are around.)

PetSmart PetsHotel

This is the closest idea I've seen to an indoor dog park.

I thought about that, as well. An indoor dog park would need to come with a full staff, wouldn't you think?

And this attack on me is why? Just because I disagreed with Becky?

I presented some real issues why an indoor dog park is not going to be feasible at this time for this area. It's a great idea on paper, I agree with the OPs statement about stir crazy dogs during this recent rainy weather, but that doesn't mean I think that this is something that this area can support at this time.
