Default Another Wake Forest question

Hello all,
I am very happy to announce that after 2 long years in NJ we are coming back to NC . Here is my question. We used to live in Wake Forest, and loved every minute of it. Now my DH parents, who live in Garner, obviously want us closer to them, so they are saying that Wake Forest is a chemical bomb ticking away. Their neighbor keeps saying how Wake forest is filled with Chemical plants and the "prevailing winds" he says are not very good for your health, and says that he (my father in law) should talk us out of moving back to WF. What are your thoughts on this matter . Please share.

Exactly what I said. I just wanted to hear opinions of people who actually live in wake forest. I do know there are some kind of plant off of Capital, but I think its cement plant. I also remember looking out of my window in Dansforth and seeing lit up sky at night, I was wondering where it was coming from??

There are none that I know of....hum....there is one site that they are cleaning up due to ground pollution. It's the old Parker-Hannifin site they want to build a mall on.....again, not airborne, not currently in operation.

Apex had a chemical spill a bit ago, 18 months or so I guess...but that us MUCH closed to Garner then Wake Forest! LOL!

I think your FIL is trying to manipulate you, well intentioned or not.

I think your inlaws and their neighbor are telling some very tall tales. I'm sure they mean well, but they are fibbing.

Thank you all for replies, I think he was talking about the plant on Capital off Durant rd . In any case, we love Wake Forest and will be back there in 1 month.

Maybe they're talking about the proposed bio lab which the Department of Homeland Security has several sites targeted, one of which is near Butner, NC. Someone living in Garner might view that as being near Wake Forest. I haven't heard much about it lately though so don't know if a site has been chosen at this time.
best,
toodie

I have no idea what they are talking about unless maybe the former Mallincrodt site on Capital/Durant...which is Raleigh not Wake Forest.
