This thread has gotten very ugly.
I think NC would be a great place for them to raise the kids.

I think Jon and Kate have been very blessed. There are other large families that have to deal without sponsors and they do just fine. But if the help was offered, I'm sure they would take it in a hearbeat.
I have twins and a single and I wish we could afford a nanny sometimes.

I love how you have to be a hater or judgmental to question their decisions. There are many legitimate questions about the choices they have made and I personally believe it's important to understand the situation so you can make an informed decision about watching the show and patronizing their sponsors.

Why couldn't they have insisted in their contract no shots of the kids in embarassing situations/kids must be fully clothed, etc? What these kids are doing is no different from what child actors do, but there is no protection (in terms of hours they're allowed to work, what happens to the money, etc.)

Unfortunately, I think you're right--this is the new American dream--trying to figure out how to be taken care of for life without being a productive member of society.

BTW, I think you mean hatred, not hatorade.

Was that the stuff they developed for athletes in Florida so they did not get dehydrated when working out?? Hatorade?

People are being nasty. No one is forcing you to watch the show. Just turn it off. It's not that hard.

Regardless of whether or not you like the show and for whatever reason, you have to hope that they had good intentions when they signed up for it all (i.e college tuition for 8 children, which isn't cheap now and really wont be in 15 or so years when the youngest ones will be that age!)

You guys don't know about hatorade?? Must be just a college/yuppie saying...anyways, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just don't think this is the right forum for some of the opinions expressed here.

I'm not a fan of the show. But wow to this statement. So everyone with fertility issues should adopt? Anyone that uses fertility drugs and ends up with more than 1 (2?) should reduce the amount of embryos? And how do you decide which embryos?

Has a question about a reality-tv show family possibly relocating to NC seriously become a pro-life/ pro-choice debate?

Apparently so! People want to talk about reproductive rights like abortion and selective reduction. What about the right to fertility treatments?

I'm am appalled at some of the hateful comments here. I would love their family to move to NC. I love the show, I find their family inspirational, funny and very entertaining to watch. IMO Jon and Kate are doing a great job as parents, their kids are all healthy, nurtured, loved, smart and funny and seem generally well behaved and when they are not, they are punished.

I have no problem at all with them making money from their family situation, its not exploitation. I see a lot of jealousy on this thread. I have twins and a singleton and I'll tell you, its hard with 3 little ones, 8 little ones is nearly unimaginable to me. I give Jon and Kate tons of credit. Leave them alone, they are free to make decisions that they feel best suit their family and situation. Who are all of you to judge them? If you don't like the show don't watch, but why spread rumors and lies and hate? I just don't understand mean people.
