to adream......my sisters-in-law live in cary and they love it. one has been there 10+ yrs. and the other about 4 yrs. however, i do hear there are problems i.e. overcrowding, hard to get jobs, lots of school changes, etc. That kind of stuff scares us away despite wanting to move south. gotta have a job!!!

i agree with aemm wanting to raise your kids away from some of the less desirable things about the north but the economy is making things scary!!! is there a new comers club that would help newbies make friends?

That's so funny. My best friend in HS lived on Maple Tree Lane so I used to ride my bike over there all the time! (I bet you would know them - they have 5 kids over a pretty wide range, and it's not that big of a street) We lived on Springbrook, so not too far. My husband and I had our wedding on the boardwalk at the country club.

We go to Clayton often as my in-laws live there now, so I will try to stop in some time!

We lived on the bottom of the hill but I think you are talking about Ann I can't think of her husband's name they lived in a blue house 2nd in from the corner on top, her husband passed a few years back. I forget where Springbrook is, we lived in the house to the right of the path when going toward the lake, to cut through toward Winona Pkwy.

Lived on Williamsburg Dr., just off of Baileys Corner. Great neighborhood!

Yup! You've got the right family. Denny was her husband, and yes, he passed. I was good friends with her kids (still am via Facebook ). Maybe you lived by the Doherty's - I went to school with their kid too, and the dad was one of my teachers. Springbrook is parallel to East Shore, just one street up. No more than a mile from where you were!

Yes I was friends with Gerry their mom and lived directly across from them. Sparta is such a unique town nothing down here compares to it in my IMO. I've been spoiled living in such a beautiful place.

Funny - small world!

Sparta really was a nice town. My mom has been looking for a lake community like that somewhere here in NC and has been very disappointed in her efforts.

My husband and I just moved here from NJ in July. We lived off of 287, in Hillsborough, which is near Bridgewater and Princeton. My husband grew up off of exit 73 on the Garden State pkwy in Ocean County.
