I first want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I am from Michigan and I have lived in Texas and Georgia as well and I have to say North Carolina is the best state I have lived in. I know... I am a Yankee... However, I will never disrespect or try to change this great state. All I will continue to do is respect the locals and enjoy everything this state has to offer. From the great people to the amazing scenery, I love it here. If there is anyone that is thinking about moving to North Carolina or is from Michigan, I would love to hear from you!
My son's fiance is from Michigan and has lived here over a year now and love's the area. She misses family, but doesn't see herself living there again. She said this area has so much more to offer, but Michigan is pretty. They will be married there next year in July in a castle. How long have you lived here now? What made you choose NC? I relocated from CT. many many years ago and love it here.
I'm from Michigan too. I'm originally from the Port Huron Area, but went to school in Kalamazoo (Western Michigan University). I lived in NJ for 2 yrs before moving to the Raleigh area. Moving here was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.
I absolutely agree with you. North Carolina and the Triangle area in particular, is by far the greatest place that I have ever spent any time. I am excited beyond belief that I get to live here.
I moved down less than 2 years ago and it was tough to leave but I have not regretted it a bit. I enjoy life in the Triangle - especially in the winters
Francois - by any chance do you know the name of the FB group???? I'd love to join...
I'm a Michigan native, I lived on the Southwestern side in Marshall (between Battle Creek & Jackson) for nearly 20 years and then on the Southeastern side in Farmington Hills for about 10 years.
I moved here without any family/friend connections and without a job around the end of August 2007, it was sweltering/humid 93 degrees - had me pretty concerned as it didn't get much cooler till almost November!
I enjoy the people and appreciate the green -just like home. It's been 15 months now and I can honestly say, I don't regret my 'leap of faith' one bit ... ; )
I am from CT and will be moving to the triangle area - we are looking in the Pittsboro area - I'd love feedback from anyone regarding where to live.
