Anyone know where I can get info on adopting a family for Christmas? I would like to do the tree, presents, and dinner. Any help would be greatly appreciated
You may want to try contacting the Salvation Army in your county...
Also if you have any children in school, often the secretary will know of a family that may need some financial aid and you could probably adopt them. Good luck! What a wonderful thing you are doing

I was wondering the same thing, but I don't know where to go! I have 4 small children and was looking for the right program to help us this year. We don't get welfare but I have lost a lot of income this last 2 months due to my job cutting back, so I can't really afford gifts for all of the kiddos. I just haven't been able to find the program this year! I thought they did something like the "Adopt A Family " program, but the school here doesn't have a lot of info.
Either Lutheran Family Services or Dept. of Social Services (a part of the Dept. of Health & Human Services) can hook you up. I believe Duke Children's Hospital can help you there too.
ETA, for clarity: this was a response to the OP, not the previous poster who wanted to know how to become an adopted family.
