Cary does it again. Ranks #3 safest city of 100k to 500k people and lands #15 safest of any size. What a great place to live.

"Among cities with populations of 100,000 to 500,000, Cary returned this year to its position at No. 3 after falling one spot in 2007. As of October, the town’s population was estimated at nearly 133,000."

"Cary was the only municipality in North Carolina and in the South to make the Top 25. Raleigh has the state’s second-highest ranking at 173."

My hometown of Greece, NY is ranked #8 in the overall list (we have a population of around 95k) I guess that means I get more bragging rights?!

Seriously? Greece made this list? Now I KNOW something's fishy about it.

Seriously? Why? Greece is very safe, so is Cary. They are usually both on the list within a few spots of eachother. This year it appears Greece is 8th and Cary is 15th. A while ago Cary was 3rd and Greece was 5th. In reality though, as I said in the thread about Greece being ranked 8th in the Rochester forum....they are the only suburban towns in their respective metro areas (Rochester and Raleigh) that have large enough populations to make the list. Pittsford or Penfield are probably safer than Greece; and Apex and Holly Springs are probably safer than Cary.

Those are my 3 favorite towns here. Safety is just one of the reasons.

Cary is not safe! I can't count how many times I've been almost run off the road by some woman in a Lexus SUV, talking on a cell phone.

Just having some fun.

For your information I was sending my husband an email on my iPhone while merging onto Hwy. 1 while also fetching a teddy bear for my kid in the backseat. I would never talk and drive!
